Apple iPod NanoThe Apple iPod nano is a portable audio player by Apple Inc. The nano is the fourth audio player from Apple’s wide range of portable digital audio players. Launched in September 7, 2005, the nano features a smaller color screen. Intended to replace the iPod mini, the nano combines the best features of both iPod-shuffle and the full-size iPod. It is more compact and has headphone socket at the lower bottom right corner. The most significant inclusion of the player is a new lyrics screen, which was not included in the previous iPod versions. This lyrics screen was modifiable using iTunes. Like its predecessors, it can store movies, photo albums and music library. The other features of the Apple iPod nano comprise a scratch-resistant screen, brushed aluminium casing, a new search option and gapless playback of audio files. The interface of the nano has been made more user-friendly. It's click wheel is textured to allow better feedback for out-of-sight operation. Furthermore, the centre button is slightly concave facilitating searching of music faster and easier for the user. Available in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB versions, the nano comes in black and white colour choices while a special edition in red that was also released in October 2006.
