Car CD Player

A car CD player is a Compact Disc player (often written as compact disc player) that has been specifically designed for usage in automobiles. A car CD player, often referred to as a head unit, is the central component of a car’s audio set-up. While most modern cars come with at least a CD player/ CD recorder, some cars also feature a CD changer, a device which can hold multiple disks either in the head unit itself, or in a separate unit which is usually situated in a trunk or console. Car CD players generally feature only a front casing and have their sides and back exposed, as these parts will be covered by the car.

Most modern car CD players come with MP3, WMA, AAC, Ogg and USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, and may also be iPod ready. A more modern trend is the addition of DVD playback and LCD screens. Some car CD players can also play cassette tapes and mini-tapes.
