DynavectorDynavector Systems is an audio component manufacturing company, well-known for its commitment to analogue sound. Dynavector Systems became the world’s first bulk manufacturer of high output moving coil cartridges in 1975. In 1980, the company launched and gained critical acclaim for the Karat line of cartridges which used solid diamond and synthetic ruby cantilevers measuring just 2.5 mm in length. According to Dynavector, digital sound and media like CDs, DVDs, MP3s, etc. do not possess the audio quality that an analogue moving coil cartridge does. The company seeks to further develop and improvise its line of moving coil cartridges so that they can outperform CDs. The company has recently introduced flux damping and softened magnetism (for which the company has already applied for patents) in its line of moving coil cartridges, which eliminates the harshness and irritating edginess, which is typically associated with analogue moving coil cartridges. Though Dynavector is most famous for its line of high output moving coil cartridges, the company also manufactures tone arms (DV 507 MKII), phono enhancers (DV P-75 MKII), SuperStero audio players, amplifiers and model aircraft kits. Dynavector’s current range of moving coil cartridges includes DRT XV-1, XX MKII, 17D3, 20X H/L, 10X5, etc. |
