JBL

JBL was founded as a radio manufacturing company by James B. Lansing, an audio engineer, in 1927. This was also the time when Hollywood was toying with the idea of talking pictures. Lansing found it to his advantage and his company became a key supplier to the movie industry. The MGM sound system was an innovation that won the company a citation for technical excellence from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1937.

Today the company offers home audio equipment, car and marine audio, as well as products for professional users. The products in the car and marine audio series include amplifiers, components, component systems, loaded enclosures, subwoofers, multi-element speakers, marine speakers and amplifiers. It offers these products under various series like the GTi Series, Power Series, Grand Touring Series, CS Series and Marine Series.
