NaimNaim Audio manufactures high fidelity audio products and is a British company, based in Salisbury, England. Julian Vereker an audio electronics engineer founded this company in 1969. Initially, the company was known as Naim Audio Visual; however, in 1973, the name of the company was changed to Naim Audio. Naim audio products are very popular among audiophiles as they are known to provide very precise presentation of music pace, rhythm and timing. NAP160 was the first Naim power amplifier to be sold in 1971. It was followed by the two-channel NAP 250 amplifier which was released in 1975. The NAP 250 is one of the most well-known Naim Audio products. Naim Audio shared the basic circuit layout of NAP 250 with all its power amplifiers, until 2000, when the NAP 500 was launched. Other products like the NAC52 pre-amplifier and the SBL (Separate Box Loudspeaker) are also very popular among music enthusiasts. The first Naim CD player was launched in early 1990s and was known as Naim CDS. The product underwent couple of up gradation and currently the third version known as CDS3 is available. It has also designed the CD555, which is also known as "the ultimate CD Player". Other popular Naim CD players manufactured by the company are Naim CD5 and Naim CD5i. |
