Beauty And The Beast

Beauty and the Beast is a classic fairy tale loved by children and even adults across the world. Many books, cartoons, television series and movies have been based on this classic fairy tale. One of the first movies to have been based on the fairy tale was made by Jean Cocteau in 1946. Walt Disney Pictures created an animated version of Beauty and the Beast in 1991. This animated movie was released on 13 November, 1991. It was produced by Don Hahn and directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise. The movie was narrated by David Ogden Stiers. The voiceover of the characters was done by Paige O'Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, Angela Lansbury and Jesse Corti.

The story of the Walt Disney movie is similar to that of the fairy tale, where a selfish prince turns into a beast following a curse. The only way to transform back into a normal human is by falling in love, with his love being reciprocated. Beauty and the Beast focuses on the relationship between the Beast and Belle, the heroine of the movie. The movie won Academy Awards for Original Music Score and for Best Original Song. It was also the first animated movie to have been nominated for the Best Picture.
