BrianaBriana Corrigan is among the most recognised artists to have emerged from Northern Ireland. From 1988 to 1994, she sang for the well known English pop group, ’The Beautiful South’. Right from her childhood, she was inclined towards art and theatre. She moved to Newcastle in England where she started her singing career with The Anthill Runaways. Her big break came when she was offered to sing for ’The Beautiful South’s’ debut album by their recording company, ’Go! Discs Records’. The album, ’Welcome to the Beautiful South’ gained success across the United Kingdom. She also appeared on the band’s single, "A Little Time" which went on to top the UK singles chart. Briana Corrigan recorded three albums with the band before leaving the band. With a desire to concentrate on her solo career and following some differences with another member of the band named Paul Heaton, she left the band. In 1996, her first solo album, ’When My Arms Wrap You Round’ got released to lot of appreciation from the music lovers across the UK.
