Dark Angel

Science fiction television series, Dark Angel, was made by James Cameron and Charles H Eglee. It was a hit series from year 2000 to 2002. Aired on the Fox network, the Dark Angel television show is based on cyberpunk science fiction.

The Dark Angel story revolves around Max, played by Jessica Alba, a transgenic super-soldier fighting with all her might and brainpower to transform her identity from the coded X5-452 (a part of the barcode tattooed on the back of her neck) to her own. Along with eleven others who were genetically created, she was raised in an institution called Manticore and trained to be an assassin. There’s slope in the climax of the story when the communication systems and computers in the U.S. get destroyed with a powerful electromagnetic weapon used by terrorists. In her fight to get her life back, Max is supported by a cyber journalist Logan Cale along with other friends.

Dark Angel episodes lasted for 2 seasons despite flawless cast and a high fan-following. The reason being, low second season ratings logged with high budgets. The overall story line manages to engross the audience with an unruffled sequence, except for a few scenes that seem forced. Dark Angel DVDs are available online at reasonable prices.
