DisneyThe Walt Disney Company was founded by two brothers Walt and Roy Disney. The company started as a small animation studio, and today, has become one of the largest media and entertainment corporations in the world. The company’s corporate headquarters and primary production facilities are located in California. It owns a group of cable networks including The Disney Channel, ABC Family, Toon Disney, the ESPN group and SOAPnet. TV programmes made by Disney include Phil of the Future, Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven and others. Before Walt Disney died in 1967, the last animated film in which he had put his effort, was The Jungle Book. Other movies produced by Walt Disney include Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and many more. The movie "Finding Nemo" - the highest-grossing animated film in history - was released by Disney in 2003. In 2006, the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was released by The Walt Disney Company and broke multiple box office records. The DVD’s of these and all other Disney’s movies are available in Disney stores located worldwide, as well as on the Internet. Along with creating films and animation characters Walt Disney also founded the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney World chain of resorts. |
