Doctor Who Series 2

Doctor Who is BBC’s cult classic science fiction TV series which lists in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest-running science fiction TV series in the world! Naturally, considering it is still going strong since it was first aired from 1963. After 737 episodes, the doctors starring in this multiple award-winning series (BAFTA in 2006 for Best Drama Series) have changed but the show goes on. The plot revolves around the adventures of "the Doctor" who travels in his time ship, the Tardis (looks like a blue phone box) and solves peoples’ problems.

The series went on to receive world acclaim and appreciation for its imaginative stories, good production values despite tight budgets. It also pioneered the use electronic music. Presently David Tennant is playing the Doctor. A Christmas special is on the cards featuring singing sensation Kylie Minogue. The Doctor Who Series 4 will go on air in 2008. BBC reports that David ’Doctor’ Tennant will feature in three special episodes in 2009 and Doctor Who Series 5 has been commissioned for 2010. The Complete Doctor Who Series 2 box set, DVD collections, toys, games, wallpaper, picture cards, postage stamps, board games, gamebooks, ebooks, computer games, action figures and more are spawned from the series.
