Final DestinationTeen horror thrillers garner the maximum attention from the masses as teens form a majority of the movie-going crowd. Same goes for the teen thriller flick, Final Destination and it's two sequels, Final Destination 2 and Final Destination 3. For starters, the movie ventured away from the usually adopted ëhack and slashí horror ideologies of the time. It introduced the concept of inevitable death in a much palatable manner. The movie depicts a group of students who find a way to alter their ill-fated ends that await them. Although in the same college, the students boarding a plane to France arenít acquainted with each other, until the events begin taking place. While some students refrain from boarding the plane and, of course, their inevitable deaths, the others carry on and are killed, with the entire flight blowing up just after take-off. Witnessing the horrific scene, the ones who stayed back realise how they narrowly escaped, which is soon cut short with death following them everywhere, any time, any how. The success and acceptance of the first of the trilogy soon prompted the film crew to make two sequels. While the first was launched in 2000, Final Destination 2 debuted in 2003 followed by the third in the trilogy in 2006. The Final Destination trilogy encompasses the futile efforts of students having the power of premonition against a yet unsurpassed force, Death. |
