House Season 2

House, the TV series created by David Shore, debuted on the FOX network on 16th November, 2004. Better known as House M.D, this American medical mystery drama series has won the prestigious Emmy and Peabody award. With a total of 86 episodes, it has altogether aired 4 seasons till now.

With different cases of illness and complications involved in treating a patient, House tries to portray the reality of the medical profession in front of the camera. In each episode, House features a patient with certain unusual symptoms and how a team of dedicated doctors and nurses diagnose them to find out the illness. With excellent camerawork, mysterious characters and interesting plot, House is a show that appeals to all.

The main character of the series is Dr. Gregory House played by Hugh Laurie, nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in House and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series in 2007, is a brilliant medical professional. However, he often becomes bitter and brusque in his manner, which alienates his patients and co-workers.

Other characters include Lisa Cuddy, the chief hospital administrator and a Dean of Medicine, James Wilson, the head of the department of Oncology, Allison Cameron, the Physician to the Department of Diagnostic Medicine and many others. Other strong supporting cast of House season 2 includes Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, and Sela Ward.

One can say that Dr. House is just like Sherlock Homes in the field of medical science. With similar plot and structure as that of Sherlock Holmes, House tries to investigate the medical truth generally found buried under the lies to hide the personal truth.

With 24 episodes, House season 2 featured three other doctors; namely Eric Foreman, Allison Cameron, and Robert Chase. In fact for the first three seasons these doctors featured on the show until Foreman announced his resignation.

After the end of House season 1, one witnesses a slow transformation of some characters in House season 2, however the key characters remained the same. In House season 2, the medical mystery solver; Dr. House hit the stride with some exceptional cases ranging from an ailing celebrity to a faith healer who mysteriously collapses.

House season 2’s best character is Dr. Wilson played by Robert Sean Leonard. He came under the limelight when he moved in with House after his marriage collapsed. Wilson's function in House season 2 was to force Dr. House to confront his cold and wilful inhumanity, and he does so with just the right amount of affection and criticism.

In House season 3, Doctor House fires Chase telling him that either he has learned everything or nothing at all. Subsequently, Cameron resigns considering the fact that she has developed strong liking for Chase. The series continue with House Season 4 (2007) - ’Alone’.

It is interesting to know that Exelweiss developed a House game for mobile phones in Spanish and English, the plot for which is similar to some parts to the House season 2 episode titled ’Humpty Dumpty’.
