X Men

Fictional Marvel Comics team ’X Men’ received worldwide acclaim and recognition when numerous Hollywood actors and actresses brought them to life in a movie by the same name. The first of the X Men trilogy was launched across the world in 2000. Produced by Twentieth Century Fox, the movie entails the ongoing battle between the mutant humans and their regular counterparts from the human species.

The story portrays the central X Men character Logan aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) resolving the conflict between professor Charles Xavier and Magneto; both having opposing views on human's relationship with mutants. Xavier believes in the peaceful co-existence of ordinary humans and mutant humans whereas Magneto proclaims that a ’war is coming’, which he intends to fight and emerge as a survivor. The movie weaves around the original comics’ storylines revolving around the Weapon X and Dark Phoenix projects.

The movie garnered huge success at the box office and the admiration of millions of fans of the X Men series. Its popularity led on to the production of the first sequel, also directed by Bryan Singer, which was realised in 2003. The second sequel titled ’X Men: The Last Stand’ was directed by Brett Ratner and released in numerous theatres around the world in 2006.
