Breast

The term "breast" is used to refer to the upper part of a human being’s chest. However the term is more used to refer to the "female breast".

There are a wide range of procedures (both surgical and cosmetic) available that are meant to enhance the breast, preferably making it symmetrical or larger. It is generally believed that these procedures have gained prominence largely because women tend to associate their fertility and self-image with their breast and place a high value on their symmetry. Also larger breasts and women with large breasts are seen as sexually attractive and, as such, women often go in for breast enlargement procedures.

Procedures involved in such cases may include surgery, incision, implants, etc., or may involve cosmetic methods like creams, pills, etc., or a combination of both. Also there are many procedures which allow women to lessen their breast size and "correct their breasts". Procedures involved in such cases are largely surgical.

In some cases breast enhancement and building procedures are more of a necessity; for example women with breast cancer have their breasts surgically removed (mastectomy). In such cases "breast reconstruction" is the only option.
