False NailsThe false nail is one of the most common terms used by nail technician's to describe fake nails. Other terms used are acrylic nails and artificial nails. These nails are usually beneficial for people who cannot grow their own nails. False nails act as a substitute for real nails to give that perfectly manicured nail look for daily wear or special occasions. These nails are made from a liquid and powder (a monomer and polymer) mixture. Gel acrylics are another type of nails, which are made from the same class of acrylates, but with different molecular structures, appearance, application procedures and different curing methods. False nails may be applied in a salon or even at home. They can be enhanced with the help of nail enhancement kits. Many branded nail enhancement kits help in wearing both false finger nails and false toe nails at home. They are usually equipped with buffer, nail brush, liquid acrylic, powder acrylic, acrylic clippers, tips and an adhesive. Additionally, these kits also carry a guide to applying false nails from the package for convenient handling of nails. False nails, if worn regularly, need proper care and maintenance. They may be oiled once a day daily, should be kept off pressures, the lifted areas should be filed properly and much more. They can easily be removed with the help of nail soak removal, which contains straight acetone. Vaseline or other protective lotion must be applied to protect the fingers and cuticles before soaking. After about a half an hour, the false nails will come off fairly cleanly. |
