Hard CandyFounded in 1995, Hard Candy is an American cosmetic company. It was established by two Iranian American sisters, Dineh and Pooneh Mohajer, widely known as Toki Doki. The company had begun with the manufacturing of nail polishes that Dineh mixed herself. It was baby blue coloured and was named as "Sky" and was the outcome of the need of a nail polish that would match her sandals. She came up with four sample bottles: SKY, SUNSHINE (yellow), MINT (pastel green), and VIOLET (lavender), and was sold in L.A.’s most exclusive boutiques, the very first being the prestigious retailer, Fred Segal. The success of these shades led to Hard Candy’s first order for 200 bottles. In 1999, Hard Candy was acquired by Louis Vuitton Mo"t Hennessy (LVMH) for a lump some of $30 million. Today the company sells a wide range of cosmetic products for eyes, lips, face, body and nails. Cosmetics for eyes include different shades of eye shadows, eye pencils and much more. Products for face make-up include moisturiser, mattifying powder and much more. Other products include lip gloss, glitter hair spray, body shimmer powder, sparkle dust powder for eyes, face and body, nail polish and much more. The company also produces Hard Candy make-up sets that includes mattifying powder, eye shadows and lip gloss ñ all included in one box set. The Hard Candy cosmetics now comprises over 150 beauty staples, all of which are exclusively designed and delectably packaged. |
