Laura MercierLaura Mercier is one of the most famous make-up artists from France. She enrolled in a painting school in Paris and began her training at the age of 17. Later, Mercier decided to shift her focus from the canvas to the human face. Soon, she joined the Carita School, specializing in makeup application. Thereafter, she represented the Carita School as an instructor and makeup artist. She later started working with a well-known French makeup artist called Thibault Vabre. Laura Mercier moved to New York in 1985, where she worked with the American magazine Elle. She started working on advertising campaigns for Clairol, Bloomingdale's and Bergdorf Goodman. She also worked on editorial spreads for famous magazines including Glamour, Vanity Fair, Elle and Seventeen, among others. Laura Mercier worked with clients like Maybelline, L'Oreal, Victoria's Secret, GAP and Banana Republic, among others. She also worked for many other famous cosmetic and clothing companies. At the same time, she worked with pop star Madonna on her looks for television, film and print. Soon after, Laura signed a four-year contract with cosmetic company Elizabeth Arden, where she designed the makeup looks for all the advertising campaigns of the company. She also worked for Chanel where she worked on the company’s beauty advertising campaigns in France. Laura Mercier launched her own line of products in 1996. Her product line includes bath and body products, skincare products and fragrance lines. Her products are available in 21 countries.
