G PlanG-Plan is one of UK’s leading brands of furniture produced by E Gomme Ltd. It was launched in 1954 and was sold directly to the customers through showrooms and exhibitions, which displayed the furniture in room sets. It was heavily promoted through advertising which led to its success and thus, led E Gomme Ltd to become one of the largest furniture manufacturers in UK. The first G-Plan furniture model was made in sixties and featured light oak colour with ultra-modern design of that time. G plan was the first one to bring teak furniture into fashion with its Scandinavian style furniture It was the first to introduce flip-action extending dining tables that prevented cutlery drawers and their contents from being spilled onto the floor. Additionally, it introduced the first modular furniture with a base unit featuring sliding door mechanism and five bookcase display elements for the tops. The range was named as Form Five. The current product range of G-plan includes furniture for living rooms, dining rooms, occasional furniture and bedrooms.
