Roche Bobois
Roche Bobois is a well known company for it's contemporary style of furniture. The foundation of the company resulted from the union of two families: the Roches and the Chouchans in 1950s. The furniture they manufactured were inspired by the work of Bauhaus designers including Minvielle, Steiner and Airbourne. Roche Bobois first inaugurated their store in Paris. With the increase in television watchers, the founders observed a profound shift in the households, which demanded more of comfortable sofas. In 1980s, their "Les Provinciales" collection of furniture completely redesigned the fashion of furniture that existed in Paris then. The series was a blend of trend-setting designs with ethnic look.
Today, Roche Bobois have emerged to be one of the global leaders in the designing and distribution of home furnishings. Each piece created by the company is a result of cutting-edge ideas provided by their designers fused with manufacturing skills and the personal touch of founders. Collectively, this team comes up with innovative ideas and a collection every six months. Three of their major brands are Les Contemporains that offers striking furniture for living room, Les Voyages ñ a brand that offers furniture items that are inspired by cultures of different countries, and Les Provinciales that deal with hand created furniture pieces from fruitwood with patina finish. Roche Bobois also makes furnishings for dining room, bedroom, bathroom and other parts of house.
