Jewellery sees no age boundaries. This adage could well be true considering the amount of jewellery items that are worn by children across the globe. Childrenís jewellery usually refers to the ornaments worn by children whose ages vary from toddlers to teens. Almost every trinket worn by a grownup has a counterpart specially designed for a kid. While adult jewellery items may seem relatively sedate and mature, the jewellery targeted at children are funkier and may even include carvings of their favourite cartoon characters.

Childrens rings may not necessarily be made of precious metals like gold and silver. However, if they are, besides looking good, this practice would also be a good investment option as the price of that particular metal would definitely rise as the child grows. However, considering that children would be romping about playgrounds, it would not be advisable to make them wear real gold or silver rings.

Most kids would get a kick out of having their names or initials engraved on their childrens rings, which they can show off to their friends. Some childrens rings could be embellished with stones and gems such as amethyst, opal, topaz and sapphire. The childís birthstone could be incorporated into the ring for adding to the luck factor to the jewellery item.
