CitrineThe citrine is a yellow-coloured gemstone, with the name being derived from the yellowish colour of the stone. However, the stone is also known to occur in a brownish red colour too. Citrine is one of the birthstones for the month of November. This stone is widely known for its positive properties. In the past, people used to wear this stone as a measure of protection against snake venom and evil thoughts. Naturally mined citrine primarily comes from Brazil, however most of the citrine gemstones that are available in the market are produced commercially, since citrine in natural form is a rare occurance. The commercial citrine gemstones are usually amethysts and smoky quartzes that have been turned yellow through a heat treatment. The heat treatment has been mastered to such a great extent that it needs a trained eye to tell the difference between treated and natural citrine stones. The beauty of citrine has enamoured many and it is used in the crafting of semi-precious jewellery. The amber colour of these stones, set in white gold has led to the creation of many sparkling designs. One can find jewellery items like rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants, crafted out of citrine. Some of the product offerings include Emerald Cut Citrine Earrings set in 14k gold, 14k gold oval citrine bracelets 7'', 14k white gold citrine and diamond pendants and 14k gold large round citrine and diamond rings, among many other beautiful jewellery items. |
