Clown

Often regarded as the ultimate in comedy entertainment, the clown is a lovable character seen mostly in circuses, at parties or other fun fairs. The antics performed by the clown are enjoyed by viewers of all ages. A clown is basically a person who is dressed in a way as to exude laughter in anyone who sees him/her. With plump body suits, extravagant costumes, colourful wigs and large soft boots, the clown is truly a lovable entity.

Clowns have been in existence for centuries across different cultures. A wide range of jewellery articles are crafted through the influence of clowns. Besides being aesthetically appealing, these jewellery designs have the potential of bringing back old memories of childhood visits to the circus. Clowns appear on all kinds of jewellery items ranging from pendants to brooches, to bracelets, to rings, to bangles, to necklaces, to earrings.

While some of the clown figures may be fashioned of the same material as the major part of the ornament, others may be made of a different metal. Some jewellery items may incorporate three-dimensional mini-clowns welded on to the item and others may have a metal border within which a colourful image of a clown is embossed.
