Diamond EarringsEarrings today have become a common accessory among both men and women. Women usually wear stud earrings, dangling earrings or earring hoops. However, men usually wear stud earrings made of gold, silver, diamond or any other metal. One of the most common and also the most desired earrings are the diamond earrings. They have received popularity before the Renaissance period and since then have been a symbol of endurance and superiority. Diamond earrings are known for their 4 C’s: Clarity, Cut, Colour, and Carat. The clarity of the diamond represents the brightness or dullness of a diamond in relation to the size and shape of the stone. If it is flawless, it is marked as "F- Class", which is quite expensive. There are different types of diamond cuts to choose from - round, oval, heart, square, pear, marquis, and emerald cuts which are affordable than those with detailed cuts. Diamond earrings are usually transparent in colour; however they are also available in other colours like tinted yellow, pink or even blue. They are graded on a scale of D to Z, where D stands for a completely transparent diamond. One of the rarest and most valuable coloured diamond is blue, which is also known as the Hope Diamond. Coloured diamond earrings are more expensive, because they are rare to find. Carat, relates to the weight of the diamond; a single carat is equal to 0.2 g. |
