Hi-fi-SystemsHi-fi Systems have taken a back seat for sometime with the launch of the MP3 player; however, they are not completely out of the market. These units are still found in the homes of many a music aficionado. They gained popularity mainly because of the high-quality reproduction of sound. The highly accurate reproduction is almost equivalent to the original master recording of audio tracks. Their negligible distortion and highly accurate frequency response made hi-fi systems a part of many homes across the world. Lately, the term "hi-fi" is referred to a high-end music systems that are widely available. A hi-fi system may have different components such as CD player, cassette player, amplifier, Mini disc player and digital radio tuner, all integrated in one unit. Moreover, one could opt to build their own hi-fi system by selecting these components as individual units from different manufacturers. Hi-fi systems are broadly classified into midi, mini and micro systems. Most midi systems have different components and all are physically separate units. Mini is a smaller version to midi players and can have different individual components making up one integrated system fit into one body. These relatively light-weight units are less powerful than midi systems, but sport almost the same audio playback features as them. Micro systems are portable versions of the hi-fi systems. All components are integrated into a unit much smaller and lightweight than mini hi-fi systems. It has the least power output, though; however, it is much preferred due to its portability. |
