iPod MiniThe iPod mini is a compact version of Apple Inc.’s iPod portable music player. It features a unique touch-sensitive scroll, which is called a ’Click Wheel’ with four mechanical buttons located beneath the wheel. The Click wheel enables the user to scroll through a list of up to 1500 songs effortlessly. The 1.67 inch (diagonal) LCD screen displays song names, artist and album titles and more. The Apple mini iPod supports most audio formats like AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible, AIFF, Apple Lossless and WAV. Compatible with both MAC and PC, the iPod mini has a capacity of 6GB and can store up to 1500 songs in 128-kbps AAC format. Data can be stored using FireWire or USB 2.0 hard drive. The iPod mini isn't just for storing music. The notes area of all click wheel iPods can store around 1000 4KB plain text files. The Text Notes enable the user to save work files and set daily reminders. Contacts, calendars and to-do lists can also be stored. The iPod mini comes with a rechargeable in-built lithium ion battery and when fully charged, it can play for up to 18 hours. While fast charge takes two hours, the time taken to charge it fully is four hours. The iPod mini is 3.6 inches long and 2 inches wide with a thickness of just 0.5 inches. Weighing 3.6 ounces (103 g), it is lighter than an average mobile phone. The iPod mini comes with a protective aluminium casing to prevent damage and scratching. It is available in five colours: silver, gold, pink, blue and green. |
