AnalogmanAnalogMan is an online company specialising in the sale of high-end, boutique and custom-made pedals. It manufactures, modifies, buys, sells and repairs vintage and new guitar effects. Analog Man was started years ago by one man because of his love for vintage effects pedals that sounded great but were really impossible to find. In 1995, the company, lead by ’Analog Mike’ Piera, started modifying Ibanez Tube Screamer distortion pedals to sound like the vintage ones used by the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Johnson. From humble beginnings it has grown really well and today, the company makes a range of modifications to existing pedals and hand builds their own chorus (Analogman Bi Chorus), compressor (Analog Man CompROSSor), fuzz (Analogman Sunface), boosters (AnalogMan Beano Boost), switchboxes and distortion pedals. Users of Analogman’s modified Tubescreamers have included Trey Anastasio, Tony Iommi, Metallica, Page Hamilton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Scott Henderson, Jimmy Herring, and Andy Powell, among others. With no huge overheads on marketing or advertising, word of mouth seems to work best for Analog Man. Customer loyalty and reputation keep them going strong. The company’s claims may sound like music to the ears of those looking for an ’authentic’ deal on pedals. |
