ChorusIn a dictionary, ’chorus’ is defined as group of people speaking or singing together. With the same implication of signing together, a chorus plays a great role in albums and tracks. The tradition of chorus signing started with concerts and churches, where they still prevail. The group signing is lead by a conductor. Chorus is often sung without any accompanying instruments. This kind of chorus is called a ’cappella’ singing. Otherwise, a chorus can be accompanied by any instrument right from piano to mouth organ or harmonica. Today, with technological advent, chorus has been more regarded as "effect" that can be generated with most electric instruments or with an enhancement attached to instruments. Some of these accoutrements instruments are attached to the amplifiers or mixers. One such accessory is called ’stompbox’ or effect pedal. Moreover, one can have a full control over speed, depth and level of the chorus sound. Chorus equipments are often complemented accompanied with by advance effects, which add to the naturalness of the sound. The digitally treated chorus analogue gives a flexibility of two outputs: stereo and mono. Those devices with metal cast and carbon fibre last longer. Besides the make, one should also consider the power output and input taken by the device as well as the compatibility of the equipment. |
