CornfordCornford is a UK-based company that manufactures amplifiers and is owned by Paul Cornford. Cornford is one of the few companies who entirely hand-make combos, cabinets and heads. Conford's exclusive range of amps includes the well-known Harlequin, Hurricane, Mk50II head, Hellcat head and combo and the newly launched Ritchie Kotzen head and cabinet. All Cornford amplifiers are equipped with speakers provided by another British loudspeaker company, Celestion. The designs of Cornford’s amps are inspired from amps that first came out in the 1950s. All amps feature master volume, changeable channels, effects loop controls, reverb and a PTP construction, which is hand-wired. These amps being touch-sensitive and dynamic allow the volume and overdrive to be solely hand-controlled for gaining the desired kind of sound to suit any genre of music, from hard rock to soft ballads. One of the most popular Cornford amps among budding guitarists is the Harlequin, which is one of the smallest guitars with the latest inclusion, the Carrera. The Harlequin has three unique features which include ultra-sensitive tone controls, hand-designed transformers and a solid pine exterior with a baffle made from dadoed plywood. Besides, it comes equipped with standard settings for volume, bass, treble, master and 2-position voice, all of which provide maximum performance along with desired quality sound. Cornford amps are on sale in stores across the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and Russia. |
