Cort

Cort is a reputed manufacturer of a wide range of guitars having a presence across the globe. Based in South Korea, Cort is considered as one of the biggest guitar manufacturers in the world. The growth of the company can be attributed to the entrepreneurial talents of Jack Westheimer, one of the pioneers in the marketing of Far Eastern guitars. Jack, along with a like-minded partner, Young H. Park, founded a firm called Yoo-Ah in 1973. This firm subsequently turned into the Cort workshop.

Showing remarkable growth in the intervening decades, Cort garnered a loyal fan following among musicians from different genres of music. Marketing electric and acoustic guitars as well as bass guitars, the company has a humungous product line. Made with attention to detail, these guitars are built for durability and clear tones. Many famous musicians such as Neil Zaza, Billy Cox, Matt Murphy, T. M. Stevens and Larry Coryell have been using Cort guitars.

The sound in the electric guitars is created through the conversion of energy from the vibration of the strings into electrical signals that sent through the amplifiers into the speakers. In the case of acoustic guitars, the sound is produced through resonance created in the hollow guitar body when the strings are strummed.
