DobroDobro, a renowned brand in resonator guitars, is owned by the Gibson Guitar Corporation. The brand Dobro was coined by the Dopyera brothers, who founded the Dobro Manufacturing Company. John Dopyera was the inventor of the resonator guitar. Dobro featured a single resonator cone. It was also called a bowl-shaped resonator. Gibson acquired the Dobro brand in 1993. The contemporary range includes Roundneck series and Artists series. The Hound Dog is a roundneck guitar, featuring a figured maple body and a radiused fingerboard. Utilising Nickel Plate hardware, the guitar comes with a fishman resonator pickup. The Phil Leadbetter Signature Dobro, an offering from the Artist series, looks elegant in sunburst colours and is constructed of solid flamed maple. This guitar is large-sized and has a baffle and soundpost design. Other features include a bevelled square neck, ebony tuners, 10 Ω-inch spider-bridge resonator, nickel hardware. It comes with a Travelite case for ease of carrying. The Limited Edition Phil Leadbetter Dobro from Gibson Original is designed to deliver projection and volume, as demanded by the resophonic players.
