Doepfer
Founded in 1992 in Germany, Doepfer Musikelektronik GmbH is a known manufacturer of audio hardware. Doepfer produce a wide range of accoutrements equipment that enhances the sound quality of audio equipments. The series of accessories manufactured by the company includes analogue modular system, MIDI hardware sequencers, Interfaces, master keyboards and controllers as well as other MIDI equipments. Dieter Doepfer, who developed Voltage Controlled Phaser for a DIY kit analogue synthesizer in 1977, established the company. In 1980s, he started manufacturing MIDI equipments with Polyphonic modular system. Two years later, Doepfer developed Voice modular system, which gained immense popularity. Next invention was the sound sampler. Later, it was enhanced with loop option compander and synthesis software. The first version of MIDI-to-CV interface was invented in 1986.
Later the series of MIDI interfaces were developed one after another ñ every time with better features and improvised version. Today, the company strives to make low cost, high quality MIDI interfaces. Most of them have five inputs for modulation wheels, foot controller, breath controller, bend wheels, rotary or slider potentiometers, foot switches, joysticks, sustain pedals, etc. Some of them are packaged in miniature cases with A-100 power supply. The chassis is manufactured from raw wood and has protective black coat.
