SteinbergerSteinberger is a series of electric guitars and bass guitars that are known for ergonomic and innovative design and superior quality performance. The guitars were designed by Ned Steinberger, a graduate from the Maryland Institute of Art with a BFA in sculpture. Initially, he started working with Thronet Industries. Later in 1979, he designed L2 in Brooklyn, NY and introduced it at the summer show of the National Association of Music Merchants. Ned Steinberger launched a company called Steinberger Sound Corporation in 1980 and he patented the design of the L2 bass. The L-series instruments were considered one of the best products of the company. These were initially made as electric bass and then later, were manufactured as guitars. The L-series instruments came to be known as "headless" for their unique design. Ned also created an innovative technique known as Trans-Trem guitar tremolo system that allowed the user to retune the guitar whilst using it. In 1992, Steinberger was relocated to Nashville, TN. The company introduced the Steinberger Spirit line of guitars in the same year. These Steinberger Spirit guitars featured the double-ball tuning system, 40:1 ratio fine tuners, R-Trem locking tremolo system, headless construction and Steinberger hardware. The company has introduced many series of Steinberger guitars and the latest one is the Synapse guitars and basses. These guitars can be bought at a discounted rate at a Steinberger guitar sale. The company also sells accessories like straps, strings and apparel. |
