Vox AC30The Vox AC30 is a guitar amplifier, manufactured by the British musical instruments manufacturing company Vox. The Vox AC30 guitar amplifier is by far the company’s most famous product, and is today used by many prominent international artists and bands like Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch and Jet Harris of The Shadows, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison of The Beatles, Pete Townshend of The Who, Dave Davies and Ray Davies of The Kinks, Brian May of Queen, The Edge and Bono of U2, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana (in studio) and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi among others. The first Vox AC30, the original AC/4, appeared in 1959. It had 15" inch speaker and came with two channels with two inputs. In 1961, Vox introduced a new version of the Vox AC30, the AC30/6, which had three channels, each with two inputs. In response to the increased demand for more features, Vox introduced the "Top Boost" modification, which ultimately became so popular that Vox decided to include it in the Vox AC30 amplifier itself. These were referred to as AC30TBs. The production of the Vox AC30 has practically never ceased, with some version or the other being in production some time or the other. |
