HasselbladEstablished in 1841 as a trading company, Hasselband is a Swedish company manufacturing cameras, based in Gothenburg. The company started with the production of high-quality still-photography cameras and has recently merged with the Danish company Imacon A/S. Imacon manufactures digital photography equipment like digital camera backs and various other lighting equipment. Hasselblad creates cameras loaded full of cutting-edge features and technology, meeting the demanding needs of professionals in the photography industry. It's product line includes H-system cameras, V-system cameras, Hasselblad backs, Hasselblad scanners and Hasselblad star quality cameras. The H-system includes Hasselblads SLR medium format cameras designed to comprise of different components including an analogue film (6 by 4.5 cm format) or a digital back. The V-system cameras include customisable features like interchangeable bodies, lenses, viewfinders, winders, film magazines and holders and other accessories. The Hasselblad digital backs sport a list of many beneficial features like safe and non-stop, computer-free capturing of hundreds of images onto a CF memory card or the new Hasselblad Image Bank and other media. Hasselblad cameras and accessories are based on a unique modular design that results in an unmatched level of compatibility within each system. The current models of these cameras include the Hasselblad H3D series, which are one of the most expensive commercial cameras available. It also bagged the TIPA (The Technical Image Press Association) award for the "Best Medium Format Digital System in Europa 2007" on April 27th, 2007. |
