KodakWell-known for its photographic material, especially film negative roles, Eastman Kodak Company is an America-based multinational. Kodak evolved from Eastman Dry Plate Company, established in 1881 and introduced the first cameras for non-professionals and christened it ’Kodak’. Kodak also has got its name associated with motion pictures and TV production. Kodak is claimed to be the largest supplier of camera films. Various other products manufactured by Kodak include consumer ink jet printers and cartridges, films, photo printing, film cameras, digital picture frames, instant cameras, digital cameras, image sensors, etc. Kodak manufactures printers in collaboration with Lexmark. One of the printers, the Kodak Personal Picture Maker, has a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi with CompactFlash and SmartMedia memory slots that allows printing without connecting it to a computer. Kodak also manufactures silver halide (AgX) paper, which is used in printing digital images as well as images from films. Most Kodak film cameras use the Advanced Photo System. For manufacturing digital cameras, there are two more companies besides Kodak: Chinon and Flexitronics. Recently, the company is concentrating on three main businesses: digital photography, health imaging and printing. |
