Nikon D100The Nikon D100 digital SLR camera was launched in February 2002. It was designed to be a digital version of the Nikon F100 camera. This lightweight and compact camera has a low noise CCD sensor and a built-in high-performance Speedlight with D-TTL flash control. The Nikon D100 has 3D Digital Matrix Image Control for accurate exposure control. The D100 features three colour modes for diverse workflow environments. It's Five-Area Autofocus has Dynamic AF operation and the new one-chip system LSI provides high-speed image processing. Its top shutter has a speed of 1/4,000 sec and its flash sync has a speed of up to 1/180 sec. For swift computer connection the Nikon D100 has a Plug-and-play USB 1.1 interface. The viewfinder of the Nikon D100 has on-demand grid-lines which help in composing the picture better. The LCD display of the camera has custom settings. This camera is compatible with CompactFlash cards Type I and Type II along with 512 MB / 1 GB IBM MicroDrive. The Nikon View 5.1 software in this camera helps in trouble-free transfer and viewing of images on one’s PC. It also includes rudimentary RAW file management and conversion. The Nikon Capture 3 software in the camera enables easy image management as well as remote operation. The Nikon D100 was replaced by the Nikon D200 in 2005, a more rugged and professional camera. |
