Sigma LensSigma lenses are manufactured by Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd., a camera accessory major that manufactures Sigma lenses. Most of these lenses can be classified into seven main categories; wide zoom, standard zoom, telephoto zoom, wide, telephoto, macro and digital camera lenses. Targeted mainly at single lens reflex (SLR) cameras, Sigma lenses are designed for both digital and film cameras. The wide zoom lens offers a view spread across 122 degrees with the angular range varying between 15 and 30 mm. The standard zoom lens, having a large aperture, combines a compact design with superior performance. The telephoto zoom lens has a high magnification potential ranging from the standard 50 mm to the telephoto range of 500 mm. The normal wide lens often incorporates a circular or diagonal fisheye auto-focus lens. The normal telephoto Sigma lens usually has an HSM focussing motor and multi-layer coating. The macro and digital camera lenses are versatile products that are fast as well as have a wide focus with an approximately 105 mm lens. The Optical Stabilizer (OS) feature compensates for any vibrations or hand movements during the filming process. This prevents any undue blurring or jerky feel to the images. Some other features included in Sigma lenses include a Hyper-Sonic motor, Inner Focus, Rear Focus, a tele-macro mechanism and a floating focus control system. Some commonly used lenses are the APO lens, aspherical lens and the EX, DG and DC lenses. |
