AdamsAdams pottery is one of the most prominent names in the field of ceramic ware which has emerged from the United Kingdom. The Adams family are in the business of making wonderful ceramic ware of all kinds since the 17th century. It all started with Robert Adams and his son, John Adams, well known pottery makers during the mid- 1600s. They were renowned for their exceptional quality earthenware and ceramic ware which adorned the houses of the rich and the famous all over the UK. One of the earlier Adams potteries was built in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. By the late 1790s, William Adams established the Greengates pottery. Greengates pottery work included some of the most brilliant ceramic wares which were manufactured as Queensware, Jasper, Black Basalt and so on. Another addition to the list of amazing Adams ceramics was the well liked Adams Blue range. Various other ceramic ware manufacturers with the name Adams existed during the 17th and 18th century in the United Kingdom. Indeed the history is full of numerous mentions of pottery makers with the name, Adams, however, none more famed than the family of John Adams. Currently, Greengates pottery is owned by another prominent English pottery house, Wedgewood Group. Pottery designs are still made under the name of Adams.
