A Crystal is a particular type of transparent mineral that displays a high-degree of brilliance. The term ’crystal’ has its origin in the Greek word "Kystallos," which means clear ice. The word ’crystal’ is used in mineralogy and chemistry for a solid in which the ions, molecules or atoms feature a repetition of pattern at regular intervals in every dimension. Crystallization is the process of forming a crystalline structure. The systematic study of crystals and their formation is known as crystallography.
