This talented potter started his own factory in Clevedon, Somerset in the year 1879. The production was done on a smaller scale, which ensured proper attention to detail in every pottery item. Sir Edmund Elton generally used a lot of flower decorations for embellishing the pottery ware. Owing to his passion for flower decoration, his pottery firm was later known as Sunflower Pottery. Most of the Edmund Elton pottery ware was handcrafted, with one of the most popular varieties being the Elton vases that have beautiful designs and unique shapes. Elton pottery used a unique method for creating wares that ensured each pottery ware was exclusive. Sir Edmund Elton died in 1920; however his pottery ware continues to remain popular even now. |
