HarvestIn the world of pottery and porcelain-ware, the term "harvest" has been used by many porcelain makers on their products. Though largely a marketing term, especially so now and much less earlier, "harvest" pottery is perhaps more related to the autumn season when the crops are/were usually harvested.
"Harvest" porcelain items include works by Shelley, Wade Whimsie, Royal Doulton, Lladro, Clarice Cliff, Swinnertons, Poole, Royal Worcester, Royal Winton, etc. However, perhaps the most famous and known of all "harvest’ porcelain ware would be the Harvest line from Marks & Spencer. Considered by many chinaware enthusiasts to be amongst the best; the "Harvest" line of tableware feature a delicate design of a flower/fruit which is ripe for harvesting. The Marks & Spencer "Harvest" tableware line comprised of bowls, circular hors d'ouvres dishes, dinner plates, divided serving trays, glass domed cheese dishes, gravy/sauce jugs, saucers/stands for gravy/sauce jugs, teapots, melamine bon bon dishes, melamine egg separators, melamine egg stands, melamine flour shakers, melamine teapot stands, milk jugs, napkin rings, plant pots, rounded teapots, tea plates, butter dishes, storage jars, salt & pepper pots, etc. Also one can find authentic and rare vintage "harvest" porcelain across the internet. |
