The Royal Doulton Company is well-known for tableware and collectables. This British company was started by John Doulton, Martha Jones and John Watts. They opened the factory in Vauxhall Walk, London and started producing decorative bottles and salt glaze sewer pipes. The company grew by leaps and bounds and became extremely popular for their figurines, vases, character jugs and decorative pieces. These items caught the attention of even the Royal Family. King Edward VII granted the Burslem factory the Royal Warrant in 1901. This warrant gave the company a new name, Royal Doulton, the name it is known by today.

The Royal Doulton produces tableware sets, tea pots, glass wares and decorative plates. However, the company is extremely popular for figurines. These figurines are theme based and are extremely beautiful. Some popular lines of figurines include Prestige & Burslem Artwares, Minton and Pretty Ladies. The Character Pieces figurines are very popular as they are based upon characters or professionals from the past. The company has also made figurines of Elvis Presley and Queen Elizabeth II.
