Sheffield United

Sheffield United FC is one of the oldest English professional football clubs. Formed in 1889, it is based in the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Sheffield United currently plays in the English Football League Championship. It derives it's nickname "The Blades" from the city’s reputation as a steel producer. In fact the club’s emblem, which was officially used in the 1977 and 1978 seasons, features blades. The club’s official apparel is red and white striped t-shirts and shorts.

The historical Sheffield United football club has been witness to a glorious past, having been league winners in 1898 other than being winners of the highly-prestigious FA Cup on numerous occasions, in 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925. Over the years, the Sheffield United official clothing has undergone various minute changes, starting with white shirts and blue shorts in the early days to today’s red and white stripes.
