DartsDarts is the term used with reference to a variety of similar indoor games, in which objects known as darts are thrown at a circular target placed vertically on a wall. These darts are projectiles that are designed in such a way that their sharp points will strike the target first. Most of them weigh between 18 to 50 grams and are 6 to 8 inches long. Magnetic darts have become increasingly popular in recent times. Often made of bristles or sisal fibres, these targets are known as dartboards. A standard dartboard is divided into twenty-two sections and is eighteen inches in diameter. A fine metal wire is used for lining each of these sections. The height and distance of the dartboard varies according to the version of the dart game played. Darts is often played in pubs in the UK as a recreational activity. There are different versions of dart games played all over the world. The scoring differs according to the version, but it always depends on the position on which the dart lands on the board. If the dart lands on a small circle at the centre of the board, it is referred to as a bull’s eye hit. There are various professional dart competitions held all over the world such as the premier league darts game. Tickets for these competitions can be purchased in the UK. |
