EurodisneyEurodisney, the European counterpart of the US-based Disneyland, lives up to its reputation of being one of the best entertainment and holiday centres in the world. Located in Marne-la-VallÈe, just outside the main city of Paris, France, Eurodisney, also known as the Disneyland Resort Paris, was opened to the public in April 1992, with a tremendous demand for tickets. Covering a huge area, the Eurodisney complex houses two theme parks, hotels and even an entire entertainment district. The entertainment behemoth is owned and controlled by Euro Disney S.C.A, a French firm. While around 40 percent of the stake in the company is owned by The Walt Disney Company, around 10 percent is owned by the Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed and the remaining 50 percent is shared by the other share holders. With incredible construction and ’true-to-life’ sets from famous cartoon creations, the Eurodisney park is truly a treat for people pf all ages. The highlight of the park is the Disneyland Park that covers 140 acres, with different demarcated areas dedicated to a unique theme or time period. The second theme park is the Walt Disney Studios Park, which is based on the various films and memorable characters made famous by the Walt Disney Company down the years. A unique feature of the Eurodisney Village entertainment district is that all the eating houses, bars and stores stay open even after the other parts of the park close. |
