FratellisThe Fratellis is a Glasgow, Scotland-based band which comprises of John Lawler on the guitar and vocals, Barry Wallace playing the bass guitar and Gordon McRoy on the drums, providing backup vocals and sometimes also lending a hand with the guitar and the banjo. Later, after ’The Fratellis’ became a three-member outfit, Gordon took over the drums. In March 2005, ’The Fratellis’ executed their first gig at the O’Henry’s bar in Glasgow. After just nine such gigs and through the initiative of their manager, Tony Fratelli, who discovered them in the McChuills bar in Glasgow, ’The Fratellis’ were signed on by Fallout records. This resulted in ’The Fratellis’ LP being launched in April 2006. The band members took on new names with John becoming Jon Fratelli, Barry becoming Barry Fratelli and Gordon taking on the name tag Mince Fratelli. The Costello Music album was released in September 2006 reached the second position on the UK charts. Good tunes and interesting lyrics have increased the popularity of the band. The live performances of the band were well received and tickets for the same experienced brisk sales. With the number of fans growing, ’The Fratellis’ concerts have turned into popular entertainment ventures. While the band’s discs have shown decent sales, nothing beats the experience of being personally present while the group belts out its music on stage. |
