Pet Shop BoysPet Shop Boys is a successful pop group based in Europe. This English pop duo consists of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. Neil renders the main vocals and plays keyboard, while Chris Lowe is the dedicated keyboard player and sometimes offers backup vocals. The duo started playing music in 1981 and have set a track record of a consistent release of popular numbers. In the UK, the group have 39 top thirty singles to their credit since 1986. The success of their music has been largely attributed to their mellifluous tones coupled with intelligent lyrics. Some of their hit singles include West End Girls, It's A Sin, Always On My Mind and Heart. In May 2006, Pet Shop Boys released an album, Fundamental, that was well received across the globe. Some of the Grammy awards nominations that Pet Shop Boys received include one for the Best Dance Recording in favour of I'm with Stupid, and another for the Best Electronic/Dance Album for Fundamental. The duo have always been actively involved in the artwork, design and photography for all of their releases. The book Catalogue is a 336-page book that features their achievements in artwork, design and music. With songs like "Can You Forgive Her?", "It's A Sin" and their cover of Village People's "Go West", Pet Shop Boys have also been regarded as important figures in the global gay culture. |
