Ryanair

Ryanair is a successful Irish airline with operations of over four hundred routes to 25 countries. It is one of the biggest low-cost carriers in Europe, and a leading airline at the global level. The airline has its headquarters in Dublin, and its largest operational base at the Stansted Airport in London. Ryanair flights operate on various routes all across Europe.

In 1985, Ryanair was established by Christy Ryan, Liam Lonergan and Tony Ryan. This airline was named after Christy Ryan of Waterford who desired to provide air service between London and Waterford. The first aircraft used by Ryanair was an Embraer turboprop aircraft with fifteen seats. The next route the airlines offered was the Dublin-London Luton flight. In the 1990s, Ryanair was restructured and offered low fares to attract passengers. This strategy worked and the airlines made plenty of profits for further investment. So far in 2007, Ryanair has opened several services in popular destinations like Warsaw in Poland, Madrid in Spain, Dalmatia in Croatia and Budapest in Hungary.
