p>Scissor Sisters are an American alternative band formed in the year 2001. The music created by this band is a combination of disco, glam rock and pop. The band was initially called 'Dead Lesbian and the Fibrillating Scissor Sisters'. The band received enormous success in Europe and Australia, especially in the United Kingdom. The band comprises 5 members. Jake Shears is in charge of vocals, Babydaddy plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboards as well as vocals and Ana Matronic plays percussion and vocals. Del Marquis plays the guitar and Paddy Boom plays drums and percussion.

Jack Shears met Babydaddy in 2000 and they started playing together. Eventually the other band members joined. The group was signed by the record label Polydor as they were impressed with the band’s cover version of ’Comfortably Numb’. The first song recorded by the band for the label was ’Laura’. Later, they released a number of singles from their debut album Scissor Sisters that reached the number one spot on UK Albums Chart. It also went on to become the best selling album of the year 2004.

The next album released by the Scissor Sisters was Ta-Dah. This album was released on September 18, 2006 in the UK.
