Cars is Pixar Studioís seventh animated feature film, and the first after its merger with the Walt Disney Company. Pixar has produced a number of classics like the "Toy Story," "The Incredibles" and Finding Nemo. Directed by John Lasseter and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. The Disney Pixar Car movie is also a winner of the Golden Globe Awards.

This animated film is set in a virtual world that is inhibited by anthropomorphic cars and other vehicles. The lead character of the movie is Lightning McQueen, which is a cocky, rookie race car. Lightning McQueen, on his way to wining a tie-breaking race, is stranded in an almost-ghost town of Radiator Spring, on old route 66. It is here in the long-forgotten community of Radiator Springs that Lightning learns a trunkful of life lessons. All the characters in this movie are played by animated cars, trucks, vans and SUVs. The cars and vehicles in the movie are gifted with human-like characteristics with windshield eyes and grilles for mouths. The voice-over for most characters are given by well known Hollywood actors like Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, Paul Newman, Cheech Marin, Tony Shalhoub, John Ratzenberger, George Carlin, and Larry the Cable Guy. Followed by the popularity of the movie, many Disney Pixar car toys, games and merchandise have been introduced by different manufacturers.
